Rest Awake Yoga and Yoga Therapy

Move your body

Rest Awake Yoga is all about moving gently, breathing deeply, and reconnecting with the wisdom of your body. Slow, mindful movement and restful postures help you feel more grounded, open, and alive, without pushing or straining.

This practice meets you right where you are. Mobility work keeps your joints happy and your body moving freely, so you can stay strong and limber as the years go by.

I specialize in working with women over 50, when the body often needs a little extra care because of old injuries, stiffness, or just the natural changes that come with time.

I’ve supported many women through perimenopause and menopause, when hormonal shifts can change how we feel physically, emotionally, and energetically. The right kind of movement and attention makes a real difference.

A Rest Awake Yoga Story – Age 76

“After having both a hip and knee replacement, I honestly thought I would never have full range of motion again. On top of that, I was dealing with bursitis in my shoulder and arthritis in a few fingers. Everyday normal tasks became painful, and I stopped doing many of the things that I really loved. I shared these goals with Monica. I wanted to reach the top shelves of my cupboards, carry my own groceries, and get back to gardening. At the time, I felt weak and honestly didn’t have much hope that my body could bounce back.

Monica met me exactly where I was. We began working together online, and in the beginning I couldn’t do very much. Little by little, things started to get better and I got stronger. Within a year, I was balancing on one leg and moving easily through all of the mobility sequences she designed just for me.

Today, I am thrilled to say I can garden again, carry my own grocery bags, and – my proudest moment – I lifted my carry-on into the overhead bin on a flight all by myself. This practice didn’t just help my body, it gave me back some confidence and joy. I highly recommend.” DW Retired Nurse

YOGA THERAPY

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy combines meditation, assisted movement, and dialogue. Together, they can help you lower your stress, relax deeply, gain new insights, and create lasting change, inside and out.

It can help release emotions held in your body and give you tools to make new, healthier choices. It also works well alongside any other therapy or healing you’re already doing.

You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or have any yoga experience. If you can breathe, you can do it.
